life is a story

———

In the beginning of 2019, I felt as though my life was at a fork in the road. I needed a change. It was as though I’d been coasting in the lane of familiarity and discontentment for too long. I had the stark realization that I'd lost touch with eagerness for fresh perspectives and new territory, something I had always valued. So, I figured the way for me to snap myself out of the funk was to jump into something new, something I was actually interested in. I borrowed my family’s Canon Rebel, piled everything I owned into an Astro van, and drove to desert. I was nervous with excitement to pursue this artform that I knew nothing about, to create simply for the sake of creating. A lot has changed since that trip to Utah, and photography has definitely played a big part. It has become a medium to express my passion for the beauty of life. The images I create are my way of telling the tales of the people and places I meet along the way. I hope that these images and the tales they tell might inspire others to live with action, empathy, and to immerse themselves in the realization that life can be an incredible story. And as I go, I am eagerly anticipating all the lessons I will learn and stories I will hear.
